Summary
“Can I suck your dick?”
It’s both unexpected and expected, and Carl both knows what to say and doesn’t. So he says nothing.
“You suggested it,” Bob says, which Carl can’t honestly deny. He didn’t mean the suggestion, but he made it.
Are you gay, he wants to ask. Are you crazy is probably the more important question.

Summary
“Do you give a shit?” For just a second Carl’s gaze, when he lifts red-rimmed, wide-pupiled eyes to meet Bob’s own, is defiant. He falters, mouth twisting into a rueful grimace. “Right. The story’s the important thing, I shouldn’t have -”
“Don’t put words in my mouth,” Bob says, still too sharp. “Of course I give a shit. You’re right, I shouldn’t care if you’re gay or you just go to gay bars for the conversation, but it’s but it’s you and I do care about your wellbeing. And it’s - it’s nice to know,” he adds, dry throat catching and choking.

Summary
The infuriating thing, Carl thought as he licked his wounds over by a side table serving as a holding place for discarded champagne glasses, was that crooked bowtie or not, Woodward looked good in a tux. No penguin comparisons for Bob Woodward, no; he wore the ridiculous get-up as easily as Carl imagined he had once worn his navy uniform. Carl wanted to tear it off him. Not all the way; just one sleeve, maybe. Just enough to disrupt that handsome, symmetrical silhouette and put Woodward as off-balance as Carl felt.

Summary
“You know, he rides horses. Shaffer,” Carl says conversationally as he unzips Bob’s pants and helps him kick them off. “Real country gentleman. Got the whole kit, sexy boots and all.”
Bob rolls his eyes and makes no move to help as Carl unbuttons his shirt for him. “So do you.”
“I ride horses. I don’t ride them in clothes like that,” Carl says. “I don’t even own sexy boots.”

Summary
“Here. Go get a haircut, then come back and we can discuss this like reasonable people.” Bernstein stepped closer and thrust his arm out insistently, brandishing the five dollar bill mere inches from Bob’s nose. “You always get snippier about my hair when you’re annoyed with your own, then you get it trimmed and mine stops bothering you. If it’s bugging you so much, go get it cut and stop taking it out on me. It’s on my dime, even.”

Summary
Woodward’s kiss was uneventful, as chaste and dull as had been every kiss so far. He smiled at me as he pulled away, shrugged a little shamefacedly, and said, “someday after this is all over you should ask Sirica why we care so much about incarcerated journalists.”
In her autobiography The Watergate Girl, a former star Watergate prosecutor reveals a never before-seen side of the scandal - and of two of its most famous figures.

Summary
It rankles a bit that "deep background" is all Carl ever gets from Bob, because they’re partners. They share a byline; it feels unfair that Bob won’t share the second-biggest secret between them. Bob doesn’t have to know that Carl is holding tight to something even bigger.
Late at night in the Post offices after the release of the Segretti article, more than a couple secrets come out.

Summary
When the initial hunger for getting assigned a good story and the subsequent satiation that comes with it wear off, Bernstein is left with a lingering annoyance.
Woodward is young and inexperienced. He’s been working at the Post for nine months. He should be scrappy and rough around the edges and still breaking a sweat every time Bradlee so much as thinks about him. Instead, he’s all golden retriever confidence and charm and somehow has an infuriating knack for turning a courtroom assignment into the story of the fucking century.
Of course, he can hardly write to save his life, which makes Bernstein feel better.

Summary
Castiel Woodward is starting his first year of college and all he wants to do is get through the year, keep a low profile, and not cause trouble. All of this goes to shit when he meets the editor of the school newspaper, Charlie Bradbury, and joins the writing team for the Bernstein College Post. All of this goes more to shit when he befriends Dean Winchester, a second year Journalism major, and they begin to uncover what turns out to be the biggest scandal the school has ever seen. The story takes them on a cross-country journey from Washington D.C. to Coastal California, looking for any and every lead to help them solve the case, and somewhere along the way they just might find each other.

Summary
Cover art for the story. Story summary:
Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward are both journalists — and that's pretty much everything they have in common. Now they are forced to work together on a Watergate case. With every answer they find they also find more questions. Quite soon they notice that they are surrounded by threats, huge pressures and no one else to help them out but each other. Basically, the story happens between/behind the scenes of the film.
